“In Today’s report I’m going to talk about #medicare. Nearly 171 Million workers contribute to Medicare through payroll taxes out of 327 Million Americans. Approximately 58.4 Million Americans receive Medicare benefits.
In this report, I’ll tell you when you should apply for Medicare and how, but first here are the four parts of Medicare:
Medicare Part A – Hospitalization Insurance. Helps pay for the inpatient hospital care and certain follow-up services, like skilled nursing facility care, nursing home care, and hospice care. Medicare will not pay for custodial care.
Medicare Part B – Medical Insurance. Helps pay for doctor services, outpatient hospital care, and other medical services, like ambulance services and durable medical equipment.
Medicare Part C – Also known as Medicare Advantage Plans. These are for people with Medicare Part A and B who prefer to use a Medicare approved private health insurance plan, which could lower monthly costs but expand copayments.
Medicare Part D – Helps cover the costs of prescription drugs. If you have limited income or limited resources you may qualify for what’s known as extra help.
In Pennsylvania it’s known as PACE. In New Jersey it’s known as PAAD. According to The Social Security Administration you should contact Social Security about three months prior to your 65th birthday to sign up for Medicare. The most convenient way to conduct Social Security Business from anywhere at anytime is to visit https://www.socialsecurity.gov.
There you can even apply for retirement, disability, and your Medicare benefits and much more. If you don’t have access to the internet don’t worry. You can call 800-772-1213 twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.”
