November 2024 marks the 16th anniversary of our radio show, and we will be commemorating the occasion with a special episode that will air on Saturday, November 23rd. The Founding of The Crash Proof Retirement® Show

After working for more than 30 years in the insurance industry, Phil Cannella had built a sizable nest egg for himself and his family of four. Unfortunately, the market crash of 2001 erased two-thirds of that nest egg almost overnight. After experiencing those losses, he quickly realized that traditional, securities-based investments didn’t provide any measure of safety for investors, especially those who were in or near retirement. He knew there had to be a better way, and he found it by analyzing the statements of financial life insurance companies. 

These statements revealed safe alternatives to Wall Street that had miraculously protected consumers’ nest eggs through the market crash of 2001, and that were even able to credit 7% interest through the same time period. Phil was impressed, as no securities based investment – like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds – could make the same claims. Cannella spent a great deal of time researching these vehicles and identified a select few as the most consumer driven contracts available: those that achieved growth comparable to securities based investments, with principal protection, no fees whatsoever, and that contained guaranteed tax-favored income options making them perfect for investors in or near retirement.

Of course, he knew that any one of these vehicles alone wouldn’t be enough to provide a secure retirement. By finely tuning these safe alternatives in concert with clients goals he unlocked their true power. Cannella spent the next 7 years perfecting the orchestration of these vehicles into The Exclusive Crash Proof Retirement System® which today protects over 5,000 clients nationwide.

By the time the market crash of 2008 happened, Phil Cannella had already protected many clients with his proprietary Crash Proof Retirement® System, all of whom were elated that they weathered the crash without losing any of their principal. The Crash Proof Retirement® Show’s Exclusive Interviews

The Crash Proof Retirement® Show documented the pitfalls of Wall Street thorugh exclusive interviews with important figures including powerful industry leaders, esteemed economists, top researchers, and high ranking federal officials. The most historic and groundbreaking interview was Phil Cannella’s conversation with former Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Inspector General H. David Kotz. This marked the first time in history that an SEC Inspector General was interviewed while still in office, and it certainly shook things up within the regulatory agency and throughout the investing landscape.

Kotz discussed many topics, including the difficulties that SEC regulators faced in policing Wall Street and all the problems inherent in stopping the financial crimes of some of the most rich and powerful financial companies in America.
